The cemetary of Sunan Muria is an area located at Dawe subdistrict Kudus district. It has a plenty of tourism potential, both religious natural and ecotourism. The sites have been managed by Rajenu foundation and Sunan Kudus foundation in Kudus. A major part of the sites was once renovated by Kantor Balai Pelestarian Peninggalan Purbakala (BP3) an office of artefacts preservation, but minor part of the sites has never been renovated. Inspite of having a great variety of tourism potentials, it is obvious that Central Java Province is a potential area with contains historical and ancient artifacts, especially in the cemetary site. However, it is a pity that such a potency has not yet maximally utilized especially in tourism. The reason is there are same barriers, among other things no complete tourism study an plans in the sites, ever there is one – it is only limited to cemetary area, not yet involving the people and external area. In addition, institutional matter will also a hurdlle, especially at the Sunan Muria Kudus cemetary and generally Central Java Province, in that those sites are managed and strictly controlled by BP3 offices that is an UPT (Unit of Technical Implementation under Ministry Cultural and Tourism). Accordingly, the regional goverment is helpless. In this case it is imperative that a study of regional development in sites management which is intergrated between the Central and local institutions, especially the development of religious tourism potency at the area of Sunan Muria cemetary, Dawe, Kudus district, Central Java.
